The attendants of the meeting visited Shevchenko National Reserve to observe the progress of restoration and renovation of the museum complex and other objects. They verified whether the works meet the schedule and working plans envisaged by the General National Reserve Development Plan as to the expansion of its territory, enrolment in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List, formation of a new museum exhibition, etc.
The attendants of the meeting drew attention to the inadequate amount of funds allocated for restoration works in Shevchenko National Reserve.
The People´s Deputies stressed that delay in funding in 2009 is especially dangerous, as its consequences will be grave: the lack of working ventilation and heating facilities in winter will damage or destroy a number of restoration works that should be re-done. It is necessary to properly fund the maintenance of streets and premises of "Kobzar´s Last Way" in the town of Kaniv.
The Committee members shall summarize the proposals and scrutinize them at the next meeting. The Committee shall also facilitate arrival of State Budget Funds allocated for Shevchenko National Reserve.
